Namie Amuro
Amuro gyaru, is a style inspired by the charismatic singer and model Namie Amuro (who was considered to be the creator/mother of gyaru) that surged around October of 1995, which is when her second single 'Body Feels EXIT' was released. Since she was so popular, many young girls, primarily Kogyarus, started emulating her looks by mainly wearing tall platform boots, checked miniskirts and turtleneck sweaters.It's considered to be the first substyle, existing just a little before ganguro.
