Ank Rouge (アンクルージュ) is a Japanese clothing branded created in 2010 with Popteen Magazine model Rie Matsuoka as the brand's director[1]. The brand was popular with Himekaji Gyaru and Roma Gyaru , but is not as popular in recent years.
Concept[]
According to the official Ank Rouge website and Facebook, the concept is "With using the keywords of 'romantic and sweet-casual', we propose a dreaming girly styling fully packed the contents of 'kawaii and Love'."[2].
History[]
Ank Rouge began development by Japan imagination Co., the company behind CECIL McBEE, in early 2010. In May 2010, Rie Matsuoka joined the team, and the brand was launched shortly after[3]. In September 2010, the brand's Shibuya 109 store was opened, which would become the first of many branches to open. The Shibuya 109 store would be decorated with an antique, rustic style interior, which would play into the brand's original concept of "Gal Antique".
