Ayana Tsubaki (written as 椿姫 彩菜 during her Gyaru days) is a model, TV Personality and professional mahjong player. She is known for her appearances in Koakuma Ageha and Nail UP!.

Biography[]

She was born on July 15th, 1984 in the Saitama Prefecture. Later in her life, she went to the Aoyama Gakuin university while she was male-presenting, but left in the second year to work at a transgender bar in Kabukicho. Then, in 2006, she went to Phuket, Thailand for gender affirming surgery, and later in December of that same year, she changed her gender from male to female in her family registry (or koseki). In 2007, she left the aforementioned trans bar to resume her studies in the Aoyama Gakuin university. She was already modeling at Koakuma Ageha by this time, with her first appearance being in the 2nd issue (launched in May of 2006).

In April of 2008, she launched a confectionary brand in collaboration with Chibori called "Gâteaux de Fée" which was co-produced by fellow models Shizuka Muto and Yui Kanno.

In 2009, Tsubaki made both her acting debut and first stage appearance with Shukatsu no Musume and Moulin de la Galette respectively.[1]

  • She mentioned on one of her blog posts that she chose her surname because the kanji reminded her of La Traviata.[2]
