Gyaruo (ギャル男, ギャルオ), sometimes written as Gyaru-o, is the term used for the male counterpart of Gyaru. Just like female gyaru, Gyaruo have just as many substyles which fall under an equivalent of each female style of gyaru.

Gyaruo can be tanned or not, and if not following a particular style (I.e Rokku Gyaruo) usually fall under a general style of having styled bleached hair, and wearing clubwear or fashionable clothing.

Modern Gyaruo[]

The popularity of Gyaruo has dwindled a lot over the years and seen many gyaruo leaving the style. However there is still some gyaruo practicing the style both in and outside of japan.
