Amekaji[]
Amekaji, comes from ame (American) and kaji (casual). This style is colourful and inspired by the fictionalised stereotypical idea of America. In it's boom, multiple magazines rushed to feature the style in their pages, with various brands such as COCOLULU and Buzz Spunky being popular amongst Amekajis in this era.
Amekaji in gyaruo can often be confused with the Surfer gyaruo, but a key difference is that Amekaji can not only have bright colours, but also warm-toned colours, which Surfer gyaruo doesnt.
Adult[]
A style that is the counterpart to Onee-gal (the substyle itself not the age category). It is simple, mature and sophisticated. It is not flashy and often has darker colours, along with organized outfits and class.
Biker[]
A gyaruo version of how those who use motorcycles/motorbikes would dress. Somewhat similar to Ora Ora.
